Tails or sometimes known as The Amnesic Incognito Live system is an operating system like any other operating system. It is a Linux distribution that is totally concern about privacy and anonymity. All the machines like a computer, laptop, mobiles communicate with the internet with the help of the operating system. In most cases, these communications are not anonymous, which means that if you visit some site or you do something on the internet then you are not anonymous, people, websites(that was visited by you) can see your machine IP address, and in this way, you are not anonymous on the internet.

When we use Tails the all the incoming and outgoing web connections are forced to go through Tor traffic, and any non-anonymous request and connections are blocked. The main benefit of this Tails operating system is that this system is designed to be booted as a live USB or live DVD, which means that you can install the complete OS in your USB and when you want to use the tails just insert it into the computer use the Tails and done your work and eject the USB, the great feature is that this OS is designed in such a way that this system will leave no digital footprint on the machine in which you insert live USB Unless explicitly told to do so.

Tails completely live in RAM and do not write or store any data to any other device unless you strictly specified it to do so and in this way Tails wipe out the digital footprint from the computer. However, you can create an encrypted volume within the USB Drive where Tails is installed to save user data and files. Tails is a very advanced OS so when you shut down the Tails then all the RAM memory will overwrite by Tails to avoid a cool boot attack.

Tails OS has pre-installed bundled software which is useful for anonymous browsings like PGP encryption, PWGen to generate a strong random password, and many-more.
